TO-66

A common alternative to the TO-8 header, frequently used in laser and photodetector applications.
About the package

TO-66 headers are commonly fabricated with CRS or Kovar bases and pins, coated with nickel and gold. These headers can accommodate up to 9 pins, though 6 and 9-pin versions are the most common. The 9-pin header is standard and most requested, while other options are available. The TO-66 mounting surface varies depending on dimensional modifications.

The standard mounting area is typically 7.0×7.0 mm, sufficient for a wide range of thermoelectric coolers (TECs) without pin insulation interference. KIMT offers various solutions, including single-stage and multi-stage TEC options, designed for the TO-66.
