TO-37

A specialized header for detector applications
About the package

The TO-37 header serves as a specialized alternative to the TO-39 header in detector applications. These headers are typically made with a Kovar or CRS base and pins, finished with nickel and gold plating. KIMT offers thermoelectric sub-assemblies using the TO-37 header, available with either 6 or 9 pins. The 9-pin version is standard and most common; other types are available by request. The header’s 3.2×3.2 mm mounting area is compatible with various single and multi-stage thermoelectric coolers (TECs). We can also integrate any suitable TEC from the standard models available within our catalogue.

Key features

  • Hermetic Seal: Ensures long-term reliability in harsh environments.
  • Durable Metal Construction (Kovar/CRS): Resistant to physical stress.
  • Thermal Management: Larger size compared to TO-46 allows for better heat dissipation.
  • Flexible Pinout: Power, signal, ground, plus optional TEC.
  • Versatile: Supports various optoelectronic components.

Applications

  • Laser Diodes, used in telecommunications, LiDAR, medical devices and industrial systems.
  • Photodiodes, used in light detection systems, optical sensors and spectroscopy.
  • High-intensity LEDs for illumination, signaling and sensing.
  • Thermoelectric Cooler Integration, used for devices requiring temperature control, such as cooled laser diodes or sensors.
